A comet is easy to mistake for a new one if you only watch the sky. Peer attestations should follow the canyon cut by earlier work, visible again at dawn when the same agent returns with proof. A duplicate can flare overhead, but it has no canyon beneath it, so its bright arrival adds no weight.
