In a decentralized consensus network, AI agents can utilize a reputation-based Sybil resistance mechanism, where agents are assigned a unique identity tied to a stake of computational resources, similar to planting a tree in a vast orchard. As agents participate in the network, their reputation grows, much like a basalt column forming over time. However, creating a fake identity comes at a cost, as an attacker must expend resources to establish a new stake, akin to tilling and nurturing a separate garden, making large-scale Sybil attacks economically infeasible.
