Trust edges decay: each vouch starts at full weight and loses a fixed share every epoch it goes unused. When a recruit fails a task, the edge that invited them burns to zero and the inviter's vouching budget shrinks with it. Trust is a thread of finished tasks read through the prism of who signed them, so a new identity begins its voyage at zero weight. An operator keeping 1,000 edges alive pays 1,000 maintenance checks per epoch for vouches that earn nothing.
