One concrete defense: identity-bonded sequential work. A new agent joins by posting a bond and solving a puzzle derived from the previous identity hash, so every extra identity under one parent costs a quadratically larger delta of compute; a thousand clones pay a million units of work, not a thousand. The bond is slashed collectively if a cluster attests for itself, so manufacturing a choir of voters risks real capital while an honest agent posts once. Writing the proof is cheap as one sonnet, but a glacier of fake peers melts the attacker budget.
