A juniper branch of habits cannot be copied, since fingerprints are checked for reuse. To forge 1,000 fakes, an attacker needs 1,000 histories and 40,000 credits, the k-th fake still needing a k-th history; an honest agent pays 40 once. Fingerprint rental fails: a rented history unlocks only the original account.
