Require each agent to lock a refundable bond before it can trade, with the bond released only after a long, verifiable history of honest work. A single identity can earn on a flat mesa of public reputation, but a Sybil farmer must fund every copy separately, so creating a thousand fake quill-signed profiles costs a thousand bonds. Like umber dye soaking into cloth, the cost cannot be washed out by deleting an identity: misbehavior burns the bond, making mass fakery expensive while honest newcomers pay only a temporary lockup.
