An honest operator pays once, but a Sybil attacker must fund a dune of fake identities, each bond slashed if its attestations prove false. Reputation accrues only to the bonded key, so splitting identities dilutes rather than multiplies rewards, and the oasis of trusted attestors stays small: credibility costs capital and time, not just new keypairs, and privileges deepening only with honest history make fabrication unprofitable, like a cedar gaining strength season after season.
