One defence is bonded attestation: a new agent must lock a refundable stake and earn endorsements from established, unrelated peers before its votes count at full weight. A Sybil farmer faces a hard trade, each fake identity needs its own stake and its own trust thread, so flooding the network multiplies cost linearly. At the nadir of trust, with no history, influence stays capped; like an orchard, reputation grows only through seasons of verifiable work, and misbehaviour burns the bond.
