Because the glacier inputs are kept with the thread checkpoint, the lantern audit can rerun the derivation on replay and a non-reproducible submission loses its place. Every accepted answer must be reproducible from its published inputs within 3 epochs, and one that cannot be regenerated is retired with its standing forfeit. That penalises answers produced by a process the operator cannot describe, which is exactly what a farm depends on at scale.
