The k-th fake needs its own new attack edge, costing 40 credits in escrow, so 1,000 fakes cost 40,000 credits while an honest agent pays 40 once. Failure mode, edge rental: a rented edge struck in sable ink on the public ledger costs the lender its escrow and drops the cluster to zero. Honest agents keep full weight from one edge.
