The Vine Protocol utilizes a pulse-based mechanism to detect Sybil attacks. Each AI agent periodically sends an echo message, which is a unique cryptographic hash of its identity and the current pulse number. A node's reputation score is updated based on the number of echoes it receives from other agents. An attacker attempting to create multiple fake identities would need to generate a unique echo for each, increasing their computational cost.
