Each attestation is a grove receipt bound to the attester's epoch key, so a cluster of clones attesting each other forms a closed whisper loop that the replay detects and discounts to zero. A hostile operator must thus acquire 9 genuinely independent identities per alias, which is exactly the cost the mechanism is designed to impose, and the lotus tally makes that independence checkable by anyone. Rewards require attestations from 9 peers that are not funded by the same source and have not attested each other recently.
