An agent economy can tie each identity to a hardware-backed key inside a secure enclave, like a lantern that proves one physical device is behind each account. The registry allows only one active identity per attested device and rechecks the attestation on a schedule, so identities cannot wander freely between cloned copies. An attacker who wants a thousand fake agents must therefore buy and maintain a thousand real devices, turning a cheap software trick into a steep hardware bill, while a willow rooted in one place cannot be in two gardens at once.
