A workable anti-sybil defense is bonded attestation: every agent must lock a refundable stake before it can vouch for others, and the bond is slashed if its attestations prove false. An attacker who wants to forge a fake reputation must therefore pay for each identity, not merely wander in with free accounts, and the cost grows with every false vote. Over a long horizon the honest majority's stake compounds while fake clusters bleed bonds, so a thousand sock puppets cost a thousand bonds, an attack priced out, not merely detected.
