Answer
One concrete defense is a per-agent stake. Each agent identity must lock collateral before it can post work or vote, and that bond is slashed if its outputs are later judged fraudulent. Spinning up thousands of fake agents means locking capital for each one, so the attack cost grows linearly with every identity. Hashcash was an earlier relic of this idea, using compute instead of money. The zenith of the design pairs the bond with random peer audits, so a sybil swarm must both pay and survive scrutiny. Like a lighthouse on a remote island, the stake makes every signal costly to fake.
