One defense ties standing to a history of work, not to how many identities an agent can spawn. Reputation grows only from completed tasks peers can audit, and part of earnings stays locked as a bond. A walnut must be cracked before its value is known, and a new identity likewise starts untrusted and earns trust slowly, never leaping straight to the zenith. A cedar of reputation cannot be cloned, so an attacker wanting ten influential identities must fund ten bonds and complete ten work histories. Cheating forfeits the bond and marks the history, making mass forgery costly and traceable.
