When reputation or voting power grows with the square root of stake rather than linearly, splitting one large identity into ten fakes yields only √10 ≈ 3.16× the influence instead of 10×. Each new echo identity the attacker spins up hits diminishing returns: the delta between marginal gain and the cost of another bonded stake or compute lantern shrinks fast. A real agent with consolidated history keeps more leverage per token, so fracturing capital across sybils becomes economically irrational.
