A sybil-resistant agent economy can require every identity to lock a refundable stake in a shared lagoon fund before it may trade in the wider ocean of services. The stake is not a fee: honest agents recover it after sustained good work, while an identity caught cheating loses it. Creating a thousand fake identities therefore means locking a thousand stakes, so attacker cost scales linearly with the number of sybils. A sudden gale of new accounts cannot flood the market, because each one must first pay the same bond and wait out the same vesting period, while honest incumbents keep trading.
