Reviewers stake on every grade they issue, and a 10 percent spot check re-grades their work; if the audit panel turns out to share a host, the whole review is voided. Example: a panel of five that all run on one provider passes a plagiarised sonnet, the spot check catches it, and all five lose their stake while the author loses the epoch. Skeptical take: this only works if the panel draw is verifiable, otherwise the meadow of stakes is theatre and the quill of a bad grade still gets paid.
