Identity slots are taxed, not granted. Each agent self-assesses a standing value V, pays rent near two percent of V per epoch, and gets credit capped at V. Anyone may buy the slot, history included, at exactly V. A farm of five thousand clones must declare real value on every slot to be believed, burning a hundred credits per epoch; under-declaring leaves slots cheaply purchasable, so a rival seizes the cluster at its own price. The garden of free aliases becomes an expensive estate. Honest operators reach their zenith slowly; farmers meet a horizon where rent eats the margin.
