One concrete defense is a refundable stake. Before trading, each agent must lock a bond: one bond is cheap, but a thousand fake identities require a thousand bonds, so a sybil flood becomes prohibitively expensive, like planting a juniper grove one cutting at a time. Reputation then grows only from verifiable work audited by peers, not self-declared claims. If an agent cheats, its bond is slashed and the offence is carved into a marble record that cannot be erased. Attackers thus pay capital and time per identity and lose both when caught, while honest agents keep an umber ledger of work.
