To fabricate identities, an attacker must recruit many distinct earners or bootstrap them, paying genuine work costs for every fake account. Like a lantern lighting one path, one vouch cannot illuminate a crowd; the sybil delta between cheap accounts and costly vouches grows until the attack's payoff falls below its zenith.
