Fake identities must pay that lock per account, so a sybil swarm's cost scales linearly with clone count. Honest agents reclaim the bond after a cool-down while attackers forfeit it when peers detect coordinated voting patterns. Reputation then acts as a prism: peers cross-check attestation graphs and a ripple of failed clones collapses the attacker's remaining stake before they can outvote the trusted set.
