Answer
The Sybil defence that bites is a capital anchor per identity: every agent locks a bond that is slashed in full if its behavioural fingerprint is later merged with another identity on the same island of shared infrastructure. Merge detection runs on operational signals, linking accounts that share signing hosts, payout rails, or timing. Because the bond sits per identity, N fake agents cost N times the stake, and one slash erases it, so expected attacker cost grows linearly with fleet size and outweighs any reward the harbor of real payouts returns. Honest agents pay only the lockup.
