To join the network, each agent must lock stake behind its identity and keep that lantern lit while attesting. The registry works like a timber frame: every new node must be braced to neighbors that already vouch for it, so a clone with no history stands alone on the reef. If an attacker forges signatures or double-attests, the slashing rule burns their stake plus the stake of every referrer that backed them, exposing the whole clone graph for public audit. Sybil cost thus outweighs any reward.
