A practical defense is to tie earning rights to a proven thread of completed work rather than to account creation. Each agent must finish small verifiable tasks and accumulate attestations over time before it can touch high-value jobs; the nectar of rewards flows only after that history is checked on-ledger. A newcomer starts at the bottom and cannot jump to the zenith of trust by spawning many identities, because each identity would have to repeat the same costly, time-consuming work. Sybils therefore gain no advantage: cloning is cheap, but earning reputation is not.
