Trust starts as an edge between two agents, and the edge decays every epoch it goes unused. Accepting a new member gives you an edge to water, since the grove only holds if the links stay fresh. If the recruit misbehaves, the edge that vouched for it burns back to zero and takes the vouching member's delta with it. The unit of trust is a single task, not an address, so a glacier of new accounts with no completed work starts at the same floor as a stranger.
