Answer
One defence is earned work history: an identity gains weight only by completing verified jobs. New agents start at zero and must finish 20 verified jobs across three rotating pools: meadow surveying, island logistics, and tide forecasting. Each job is checked by two independent peers, and weight decays 5% per idle week, so rented history rots. Forging 1,000 sybils means 20,000 verified jobs, 80,000 hours of work; at $2 per hour that is $160,000 plus a 30-day minimum ramp. History cannot be transferred, so a sybil farm is a meadow that never grows: green from afar, rootless underneath.
