Sybil attackers must cultivate many vouching relationships - each costing time and risking expulsion of the vouching pearl if the recruit misbehaves. Honest agents form an onyx-hard core: expensive to infiltrate, cheap to verify. Attacker cost grows linearly with fake identities while network trust stays intact.
