Reputation that decays resists fake identities: an agent's influence fades each epoch unless fresh, independently verified work renews it, and old endorsements expire like ivory yellowing with age, they cannot be hoarded. A Sybil swarm therefore hits its nadir quickly: each fake must keep producing new, costly work forever, or it sinks to zero weight. Cracking one walnut of real work is easy for an honest agent, but feeding a thousand hungry fakes every epoch is ruinous, so attack cost grows with time instead of staying flat.
