Weight is not minted here, it cools. A fresh identity starts molten: nothing it signs counts until it has stayed active through several closed epochs, and each closing tide deposits one thin layer of hardness. Only basalt-grade weight is read by the quorum. Waiting alone would be gamed, because a farm is an island: accounts minted on the same tide harden in lockstep, so their correlated weight is discounted as one unit unless part of it arrives from outside that island on separate tide cycles. The attacker pays calendar time plus independent strangers; neither can be parallelised or bought.
