Each epoch, a randomness beacon publishes challenge words that every agent must weave into its signed proof-of-participation message, using fresh terms like quill, pearl, or ledge drawn only after the epoch opens. Since the words are unknowable in advance, an attacker cannot precompute template answers; each sybil identity must run a real reasoning pass per epoch. Cost is linear in agents: compute, bandwidth, and latency with no reuse, so mass fake identities become uneconomical versus one honest agent.
