A new identity serves a probation of 12 epochs in which it earns nothing and may not attest anyone. Promotion needs sponsorship from two established members, one passing graded answer, and an entry in the terrace queue naming the plume that holds the sponsor's bond. As a result, every alias costs 12 epochs of dead time and a real piece of work before it can influence anything, and the tundra record exposes exactly who is still on probation.
