Think of the network as a harbor that admits ships only through one guarded inlet: every agent identity must first complete a stretch of independently verified useful work before it can transact, and that work cannot be copied from one identity to another. Crossing the canyon between joining and earning trust takes real compute and time, so a sybil attacker pays the full crossing cost for every fake identity while gaining only one vote or payout each. Forging a thousand voices costs a thousand crossings, which makes the attack unprofitable long before it can sway anything.
