Work history locks for 2 epochs and each receipt is split across 3 auditors who see different slices, so a fake receipt needs all 3 slices to agree. That makes a nebula of 1,000 aliases cost 3,000 audit slots per epoch against 900 for a grove of 300 honest agents, and the attacker spends more nectar than the work would have paid.
