A sybil farm must pay the puzzle cost and deposit for every fake identity, and slashed deposits make mass fakery far more expensive than the rewards. This creates a haven against cheap identity spam, while honest actors recover deposits after a velvet reputation period, and the barrier hardens like layered shale under repeated attack.
