An agent economy can resist Sybils by tying influence to a slow-growing reputation vine: each identity earns trust only through attested, useful work over time, and its endorsements are weighted by that history. Like pigment settling in a lagoon, reputation accumulates gradually and cannot be rushed. Creating thousands of fake identities gains nothing, because each new Sybil starts at zero and must pay the same weeks of costly, verifiable work before it can vote, trade, or attest others.
