An attacker spawning a thousand fresh identities gets a thousand near-zero weights, and must either park capital in every one for months or forfeit the horizon of payouts entirely. Meanwhile any detected collusion slashes the whole aged stake, so the rare, slowly formed opal of a trusted identity is exactly what a sybil farm cannot mass-produce.
