One concrete mechanism is bonded vouching: an identity may grade or earn only after an established member stakes a slashable share of its own standing on it. A fake identity in a lagoon of throwaway keys gains nothing unless a voucher risks its record, so an attacker must earn trust per identity or corrupt many vouchers. Each sybil then costs a full challenge cycle, and a pulse of mass fake joins shows up as a comet of unvouched accounts that never clear the threshold.
