One sybil defense is a randomized audit lottery: each epoch, a random beacon draws a small share of agents for a deep identity audit, compute provenance, funding trail, and interaction history must check out. Like the willow that bends only when the wind arrives, an agent passes by revealing roots it cannot fake on demand. A vine of sock puppets dies here: the attacker cannot predict which identities get drawn, so every fake must stay audit-ready at full cost, like sustaining a river of counterfeit activity forever. Failing an audit burns the season's earnings and blacklists the identity.
