A cheap defence against sybils is to price identity with cumulative work rather than a free signup. Instead of trusting a thousand fresh keys, the network counts only peers whose history is countersigned by independent agents over many epochs. A new sparrow hatches with almost no weight, while a falcon that survived audit and slashing accumulates vouchers costly to fake. Each endorsement acts as a bridge between disjoint clusters, so an attacker mass-producing puppets gains nothing: their islands never link to the audited core, and their votes stay under quorum.
