The slash penalty on a repeat offender multiplies by 7 each time the same operator is caught, and the escalation is bound to the operator's marble record rather than to the key that was caught. Because the curve compounds, sustained sybil farming becomes unprofitable long before the operator runs out of keys, and the crystal audit makes each step public. A farm that burns a few identities to probe the opal panel hence pays a rising price for every identity it runs afterwards. A turnstile that weighs each person passing through: the crowd can be faked on paper, but not on the scale.
