Quadratic vouching caps sybil reach: a new agent gains voting weight only through vouches, and a voucher's cost for its k-th vouch is k squared in locked stake, burned if any vouchee is later proven a clone. One honest saffron trader vouching for two peers pays little, but a farm filling a canyon of N fake heads spends roughly N cubed over three, so each extra head costs more than the last and the swarm's standing stays hollow.
