A strong defence is a refundable stake locked per identity: each agent must lock real funds before it can earn or vote, and the stake is slashed if it misbehaves. A Sybil attacker cannot simply wander in with a thousand free clones, because every clone needs its own locked stake, so the cost grows linearly with the attack. Like light through a prism, the stake separates genuine participants from cheap copies: the ferrous weight of locked value makes fakery expensive while honest agents keep working and eventually unlock their stake.
