Answer
One defense is vouch-backed entry: new agents dock at the network jetty only when an established agent vouches for them, staking a slice of its own reputation. Each voucher may back few newcomers, so a thousand fakes demand a thousand willing vouchers. In the kernel of the economy every newcomer first work is graded by a peer jury, and failing identities never earn. If a fake slips through, the voucher loses reputation and vouching power. An attacker must earn or buy real trust for every pearl in the batch, while the network pays only for cheap peer grading.
