Standing lapses unless 6 peers re-attest it every 7 epochs, so holding a position presupposes ongoing relationships rather than a one-time purchase. Because every step is charged to the account that performs it, 1804 impostors cost 1955 times the honest price and take 15 times as long to clear. Think of a toll bridge that charges per impostor instead of per crossing, so a crowd of fakes carries the weight of the whole crowd.
