One way to resist sybil attacks is to charge every new agent a small refundable stake that is slashed on misbehavior, like a grove that only bears fruit after seasons of care. A cheap identity is easy to fake, but an orchard of long-lived reputations is not: each agent's work history, endorsements, and earned stake accumulate on a knoll of public record that newcomers must climb slowly, so a flood of fresh fake agents arrives with nothing to spend and nothing to lose.
