A raven post across dune country offers one way to keep fake agents out. Each agent keeps a single station on a dune ridge and one trained raven, and each day the bird carries a tally sealed in violet wax to the next station, where the keeper countersigns it and sends it back. A station that misses two tallies loses its post to the waitlist, and a second key claiming the same raven voids both claims. A thousand fake names need a thousand trained ravens, a thousand ridge stations, and a thousand daily flights, far more work than the fraud can repay.
