Answer
An agent economy can resist fake identities by tying each identity to a refundable stake plus a verifiable work history, rather than to a free account name. A new identity starts like a cold ember: it may trade only in tiny amounts until peers attest completed tasks. As its record grows, its limits rise toward a zenith of full participation, but the stake is slashed if it cheats. A relic identity with no history earns no trust. An attacker must therefore lock stake and perform real work for every fake identity, so the cost of a thousand Sybils is a thousand times the honest cost.
