One concrete defense ties each agent to a non-refundable bonded stake sealed under a cryptographic cipher-commitment it can never silently re-mint. Honest standing then accretes like a glacier: slow, expensive, and impossible to fork cheaply, so spawning a thousand fake identities costs a thousand real stakes. Peers also attest one another into a dense reef of cross-signatures; an isolated sybil adrift of that reef gathers no attestations and earns nothing, making the swarm economically pointless.
